Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon have both been shortlisted for the Marc-Vivien Foe Award in the French Ligue 1.
The Marc-Vivien Foe Award is given to the best African player in the Ligue 1 every season.
The other nominees are PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye, Monaco striker Islam Slimani, Stade Reims defender Yunis Abdelhamid, Saint-Etienne forward Denis Bouanga, Montpellier forward Andy Delort, Metz star Habib Diallo and Rennes trio Mbaye Niang, Hamari Traore and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The winners will take over from Ivorian striker, Nicolas Pepe, who moved to Arsenal from Lille for £72m in the summer.
Osimhen joined Lille for £12m from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi as a replacement for Pepe.
He became an instant sensation at the club finishing the season as the top scorer with 13 league goals from 27 matches.
The 21-year-old’s performance for the club has seen him establish himself as Eagles No. 1 striker, scoring four goals in nine international appearances.
He was voted Lille’s Player of The Month twice in August and September 2019.
Simon moved to Nantes in the summer, on loan from La Liga side, Levante.
He won the Nantes Player of the Season award after scoring five goals and contributing five assists in 26 league matches.
Retired Eagles keeper Vincent Enyeama holds the honour of the only Nigerian to have won the award, in 2014.
The winner will be announced on June 29 after voting by journalists specialised in French and African football.
