Gunmen attack Rivers community, kill youth

A gang of gunmen on Sunday attacked Duburo community, in the Khana Local Government Area of Rivers state, killing a youth.

The Chairman of Duburo Community Development Committee, Vincent Gbosi, confirmed the incident.

Gbosi identified the slain youth as Ledum Nweikina, adding that the assailants struck around 9pm.

He said, “This is about the second time we are experiencing this ugly incident in the past five months. On June 3, 2020, a similar incident occurred, where a youth was also killed in a similar fashion.”

A spokesman for the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, when contacted, could not immediately confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.
