Lawyer quits being Maina's counsel, applies to stop representing him

A dramatic twist of event was recorded at the federal high court in Abuja today November 25, as ex-Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abulrasheed Maina's lawyer Adeola Adedipe applied to stop representing him in his ongoing trial for money laundering.

Adedipe who represents Maina’s company 'Common Input Property and Investment Ltd', indicated his intention to withdraw from the case at the resumed proceeding.

He apologised to the court for being absent from proceedings during some of the recent adjournments and also disclosed that his brief has not been perfected (he has not been paid by his client).

Justice Okon Abang however stated that the notice the lawyer claimed to have filed was not in the court’s file.
