Mason Mount.
Mount spent the previous season plying his trade in the Championship with Derby County.
The 21-year-old had impressed with the Rams as they made it to the 2019 Championship play-off final.
But even after a solid 2018/19, Mount probably wasn’t expecting such a prominent role in Chelsea’s first-team this term.
However, new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who worked with Mount at Derby, showed huge faith in him and a number of other youngsters including Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori.
Mount has now garnered 41 appearances across all competitions for the Blues, in which he has scored six and assisted five.
Mount’s impressive Chelsea displays have also seen him handed his first England call-up.
Gareth Southgate gave the midfielder his Three Lions debut vs Bulgaria in September and he has since featured five more times for England, scoring one and assisting one.
As per the Evening Standard, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi launched a pack of Champions League player cards with Chelsea’s Mount included in the ‘youth on the rise’ category.
